HDMI to dual SDI converter

The Jansicotek HDMI2SDI accepts one HDMI source and distributes it to two SDI displays. It handles input resolutions from 480p up to 1080p at 24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 Hz. Embedded audio travels with the video in sync. No external power supply is required.

SDI cable reach limits

The unit transmits 3G-SDI signals up to 100 metres, HD-SDI up to 200 metres and SD-SDI up to 300 metres. Bit rates reach 2.970 Gbit/s for 3G and 1.485 Gbit/s for HD. Beyond these distances signal integrity is not guaranteed. Builders needing longer runs must add repeaters or fibre extenders.

Single 1080p ceiling

Maximum output resolution is 1080p. The converter does not pass 4K, 1440p or high-frame-rate 1080p above 60 Hz. If your workflow demands higher resolutions or refresh rates, this model will not meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

This converter lists only one option — HDMI 1080p — so which version or capacity should I choose?

The unit is sold as a single SKU that accepts HDMI up to 1080p and delivers two SDI outputs; there are no alternative versions or capacities to select.

The headline mentions 2.97 Gbit/s — what does that mean when the converter is connected in a real setup?

It is the serial-digital bit-rate for 3G-SDI, allowing 1080p at 50 or 60 Hz to pass uncompressed to both SDI outputs without quality loss.

The specs cite HDMI 1.3 and HDCP 1.3 — what interface standard is used and what does it cap in practice?

HDMI 1.3 limits the input to 1080p at 60 Hz with 8-bit colour; the dual SDI outputs then carry that same 1080p signal at up to 2.97 Gbit/s.
