The Jansicotek HDMI2SDI accepts a single HDMI source and produces two identical SDI streams, letting broadcasters, educators and security operators feed professional monitors or recorders without a capture card. It handles input resolutions from 480P up to 1080p at 24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 Hz, plus common PC timings such as 1024x768 and 1680x1050, and outputs 720P or 1080i at the same frame rates.

Build Integration

No external power brick is required; the unit draws power over its USB connection, so a single cable from a laptop or rack supply keeps it running. The compact 5.83 x 4.49 x 2.44 inch enclosure weighs 7.8 ounces and fits on a desk, in a fly-pack or on a camera rig without blocking adjacent ports. Embedded audio travels with the video, and built-in ESD protection guards the HDMI 1.3 and HDCP 1.3 interfaces during frequent hot-plug cycles.

Sustained Operation

SDI bit-rates of 2.970 Gbit/s and 1.485 Gbit/s are maintained continuously, supporting cable runs up to 100 meters for 3G-SDI, 200 meters for HD-SDI or 300 meters for SD-SDI without signal degradation. The LED indicator confirms link status at a glance during long recording sessions or live events. Buyers who need more than two SDI outputs or 4K resolution conversion will need a different device.
