Two-source HDMI 2.1 switch

The Jansicotek OZ8Q2 routes video and audio from two HDMI sources to a single display. It supports 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz, 2K at 144 Hz and 1080p at 240 Hz. A front-panel button selects the active input and LEDs show which port is live. The aluminium enclosure measures 5.91 x 2.36 x 0.79 inches and weighs 11.9 ounces.

48 Gbps bandwidth ceiling

The switch passes the full 48 Gbps HDMI 2.1 data rate and is backward compatible with HDMI 2.0, 1.4 and earlier versions. Maximum supported resolution is 7680 x 4320. The supplier notes that AWG 26 cables up to 3 metres work reliably on both input and output sides. For 8K 60 Hz or 4K 120 Hz operation a certified Ultra High Speed HDMI cable is recommended.

Replaces manual cable swapping

This unit removes the need to physically unplug and reconnect HDMI leads when moving between two sources such as a console and a PC. It is not suited for setups that require simultaneous output to multiple displays or automatic switching based on signal detection. The jump is worthwhile when a single screen serves two HDMI 2.1 devices and a one-button changeover is preferred.
