Share one DisplayPort or HDMI monitor, keyboard, mouse and two USB 2.0 devices between two USB-C computers with 8K@60Hz video and push-button switching
The Jansicotek OZK5 is a new KVM switch that lets two USB-C computers share one DisplayPort or HDMI monitor, a keyboard, a mouse and two additional USB 2.0 peripherals. It includes two 1.2 metre USB-C Gen 2 cables and a USB-A to USB-C power cable. Manual push buttons on the top panel select the active system, and LED indicators show the current port. An external power source is required via the supplied cable.
This switch reaches 8K at 60 Hz only when both connected computers provide Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports with DisplayPort 1.4 Alternate Mode. Systems limited to Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C Gen 2 max out at 4K@60 Hz. Buyers whose laptops lack Thunderbolt 4 will not see the advertised 8K resolution. Gamers targeting 4K@120 Hz or 144 Hz also need Thunderbolt 4 hosts and a compatible monitor.
The single specification that determines whether this KVM delivers 8K@60 Hz is the USB-C port standard on each computer. Only Thunderbolt 4 sources enable the full 48 Gbps HDMI 2.1 or 32.4 Gbps DisplayPort 1.4 bandwidth needed for 7680×4320 at 60 Hz with DSC. Without Thunderbolt 4 on both inputs, the maximum supported resolution drops to 4K@60 Hz.
