2×1 HDMI 2.0 Switch with eARC Audio Extraction

This Jansicotek OZV2E unit combines a two-input HDMI 2.0b switch with a multi-format audio extractor. It accepts two 4K sources at up to 60 Hz and routes the selected video to a single display while simultaneously sending audio to external systems. The device is aimed at installers and home-theatre owners who need to connect multiple 4K players, consoles or streamers to one screen and separate the sound for a receiver or soundbar.

Upgrading from single-input extractors

A basic HDMI switch only passes combined video and audio to the display, forcing the TV to handle decoding. This model adds dedicated optical Toslink, coaxial, 3.5 mm and HDMI-audio-only outputs plus ARC and eARC support, so a legacy AVR or active speakers can receive lossless multichannel formats without replacing the display. The jump is worth it when the existing sound system lacks HDMI 2.0 inputs but can decode Dolby TrueHD, Atmos, DTS-HD Master or DTS:X via SPDIF or analogue connections.

Practical limits of the HDMI 2.0b interface

The 18.5 Gbps bandwidth caps video at 4K 60 Hz 8-bit RGB or 4:4:4, with 10- or 12-bit colour only at 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 subsampling. Higher frame rates such as 4K 120 Hz or uncompressed 4K 60 Hz 10-bit 4:4:4 exceed the link capacity and will not pass. Audio extraction is limited to the formats the SPDIF, coaxial and analogue outputs can carry; full-bitrate object-based codecs above the SPDIF throughput ceiling must use the HDMI-audio-only or eARC path to a compatible receiver.

Questions about this item

What clearance is needed for the 5.75 x 5.08 x 1.5 inch unit and its 5V/1000mA power adapter?

Allow at least 5.75 by 5.08 inches of shelf space with 1.5 inches of height; the external 5V/1000mA adapter adds a short cable tail that needs a nearby mains socket.

Which button or remote command actually switches the active HDMI input, and what indicates success?

Press the Input button on the IR remote or the selector on the box; the front LED changes to show which of the two HDMI 2.0b ports is now routed to the output.

What ongoing upkeep does the IR remote require?

The remote ships without a battery; insert a standard coin cell and replace it when the LED no longer flashes or the unit stops responding from normal distance.
