2x1 HDMI 2.0 Switch with eARC

This device accepts two HDMI 2.0b sources and routes one to a single HDMI 2.0b display. It simultaneously extracts audio to a dedicated HDMI audio port, optical Toslink, coaxial SPDIF and a 3.5 mm jack. The unit supports 4K resolution at 60 Hz with 18.5 Gbps bandwidth and HDCP 2.3 compliance. A supplied IR remote allows input switching from a distance.

Home cinema owners using a legacy receiver

The extractor suits anyone sending 4K video to a modern display while feeding multichannel sound to an older amplifier or soundbar that lacks HDMI 2.0 inputs. It handles PCM 2.0 through 7.1, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos and DTS formats up to DTS:X. Users who only need simple pass-through without audio separation should consider a basic switch instead.

HDMI 2.0b with 18.5 Gbps bandwidth

This specification defines the maximum video capability: 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz with RGB 8:8:8 or YCbCr 4:4:4 colour sampling. The 18.5 Gbps limit means 4K at 120 Hz or higher refresh rates are not supported. Verify that both source devices and the display operate within the HDMI 2.0b standard before purchase.

Questions about this item

What display capability must my TV or projector have to use the 4K 60Hz video pass-through?

The TV or projector must accept a 3840 x 2160 signal at 60 Hz over HDMI 2.0b to match the switch’s maximum resolution and bandwidth of 18.5 Gbps.

Can I keep using an older AV receiver that only has optical Toslink or coaxial inputs?

Yes — the extractor provides both Toslink and coaxial SPDIF outputs carrying PCM 2.0, LPCM 5.1/7.1, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS formats for legacy receivers.

How do I confirm the audio format the extractor is sending to my sound system?

Use the four-position toggle switch to select TV, 2.0, 5.1 or 7.1 output mode, then check your receiver’s input display — it will show the active format such as PCM 2.0, Dolby Atmos or DTS-HD Master Audio.
