1080P SDI-to-HDMI converter for camera

The Jansicotek SDI2HDMI accepts SD-SDI, HD-SDI and 3G-SDI signals through a single BNC input. It outputs the same video to an HDMI display and provides a loop-through SDI output for a second monitor. The unit handles 10-bit Deep Color and embedded audio up to eight channels at 48 kHz. It is powered from a USB 5 V 1 A source.

Upgrades legacy SDI-only workflows to HDMI

This adapter replaces a direct SDI-to-SDI chain when an HDMI screen or recorder is needed alongside the existing SDI feed. The jump is worth it when you must view 1080p 60 Hz or 720p 60 Hz content on consumer displays without losing the original SDI path. It does not serve buyers who need 4K resolution, HDR metadata or multi-channel audio beyond the eight-channel limit.

Practical limits of the 3G-SDI

The converter tops out at 2.97 Gbps, so 1080p 60 Hz is the highest progressive format supported. HDMI 1.3a caps colour depth at 36 bits per pixel and does not carry newer HDR or wide-gamut signalling. Cascading multiple units is discouraged because re-clock stability can degrade. The device also cannot convert analogue video or accept HDMI input.

Questions about this item

What BNC connectors does the SDI2HDMI need on the source and display side?

The unit has one BNC input for SD-SDI, HD-SDI or 3G-SDI and two BNC outputs — one SDI loop-through and one HDMI Type A connector.

Which step do users miss when powering the SDI2HDMI for the first time?

Connect the included USB DC 5 V/1 A power adapter before linking any video cables; the converter will not pass a signal without external power.

When should the SDI loop-out BNC be checked or replaced in a permanent install?

Inspect the loop-out BNC if downstream SDI monitors show dropouts; the re-clocked output runs at up to 2.97 Gbps and can degrade with cable wear.
