HDMI-to-DVI adapter for tight spaces

The Tripp Lite P132-08N converts an HDMI male output to a DVI-I dual-link female input using an eight-inch cable. Gold-plated contacts resist corrosion while an impact-resistant moulded rubber shell protects the connection. Its slim profile suits cramped racks or wall-mounted displays where a straight plug would foul adjacent ports. The short length keeps signal paths clean without coiled slack.

Passive design means no heat or noise

Because the adapter is purely passive it draws no power and generates no audible noise during normal use. Gold contacts maintain low contact resistance so the link stays stable without active circuitry. The moulded shell dissipates the negligible warmth from the conductors through its rubber body. No fan, driver or external supply is ever required.

Fits any HDMI source and DVI cable

Connect the HDMI male end to a graphics card, laptop, media player or any device with an HDMI female port. Attach an existing DVI-I dual-link cable to the female side to reach a monitor or projector. The eight-inch tail routes up, down or sideways to clear neighbouring connectors. Buyers needing a longer reach or an active signal boost for very long runs should choose a different solution.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 8in HDMI-to-DVI adapter without stressing the HDMI port?

Insert the HDMI male end straight into the source device, then connect the DVI cable to the DVI-I female side. The short 8in length and slim moulded shell let you route the cable in any direction so the connector does not lever against the port.

Will the 24K gold contacts or the impact-resistant rubber shell need replacement over time?

The gold-plated contacts resist corrosion and the moulded rubber shell is built for durability; neither component is designed as a user-replaceable part, so no scheduled maintenance or replacement is required under normal use.

At what resolution or bandwidth limit does this adapter stop passing a signal during sustained use?

The adapter is a passive DVI-I dual-link device with an 8in cable, so it carries the full dual-link DVI bandwidth without an active circuit that could throttle; the practical limit is the capability of the connected HDMI source and DVI display, not the adapter itself.
