SDI to HDMI Converter for Broadcast Workflows

The Jansicotek SDI2HDMI accepts a single BNC input carrying SD-SDI, HD-SDI or 3G-SDI signals up to 2.97 Gbps. It converts the stream to an HDMI output while providing a simultaneous SDI loop-out for confidence monitoring. The unit is aimed at camera operators, streaming technicians and AV integrators who need to view professional SDI sources on consumer displays.

Plug-and-Play Setup with Power and Signal Notes

Power is supplied through a USB DC 5 V/1 A adapter included in the box; no internal power supply is present. Connect the BNC cable to the input, attach the HDMI display and the loop-out monitor, then apply power. The converter auto-detects the incoming format and re-clocks the signal. Cascading multiple units of the same type is not recommended because re-clock performance may degrade.

1080p Ceiling and SMPTE Format Constraints

Maximum output resolution is 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz; 4K, HDR and higher frame rates are not supported. The HDMI port follows the 1.3a specification with 30/36 bit deep colour and eight-channel 24-bit/48 kHz embedded audio. Supported SMPTE standards are 259, 274, 292, 296, 372, 424 and 425. Buyers requiring UHD, 12G-SDI or HDMI 2.0 features should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Check the LED indicator on the converter; it shows active signal detection. The HDMI output will display the incoming resolution automatically, matching supported formats like 1080p at 60 Hz or 720p at 50 Hz.

What comes in the box with the Jansicotek SDI2HDMI and what must I supply separately?

The package includes the converter, a DC power cable, and a user manual. You need to provide a USB DC 5 V / 1 A power source, BNC cables for the SDI input and loop output, and an HDMI cable for the display.

Which video format option should I choose for my Jansicotek SDI2HDMI setup?

The converter auto-detects SD, HD, and 3G-SDI inputs up to 1080p at 60 Hz. No manual format selection is required; it handles 480i, 576i, 720p, and 1080i/p at 24, 25, 30, 50, and 60 Hz automatically.
