Jansicotek DP 1.4 Bi-Directional Switch

The Jansicotek TJ-A009 is a DisplayPort 1.4 bi-directional switch with two ports that operates as a 2-in-1-out or 1-in-2-out selector. It connects two sources to one display or one source to two displays for manual switching. External DC 5 V power via the included USB cable is required for operation. It is not for users who need simultaneous output on both connected displays.

Sustained 32.4 Gbps bandwidth handling

The switch maintains the full DisplayPort 1.4 link rate of 32.4 Gbps during extended sessions, supporting 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz or 144 Hz, and 2K at 165 Hz without signal degradation. HDR and 10-bit colour depth remain stable across long gaming or work periods. Audio passes through at up to 1536 kHz sample rate. It does not serve setups that demand automatic source detection or EDID emulation.

DisplayPort 1.4 practical limits

The device complies with the DisplayPort 1.4 specification and is backward compatible with earlier DP versions, but cannot exceed the 32.4 Gbps ceiling of that standard. Two displays cannot show content at the same time; only one active path exists per press of the front button. Maximum supported formats are 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz, and 1080p at 240 Hz. It is not for applications needing multi-stream transport or simultaneous multi-monitor output.

Questions about this item

Does the Jansicotek TJ-A009 get warm or draw much power when it runs all day at 8K 60 Hz?

The switch is a passive DP 1.4 device that only draws the small current supplied by the included 5 V USB cable, so it stays cool even during extended 32.4 Gbps sessions.

What cables and power source do I need to have on hand before the TJ-A009 will work?

You must provide standard DisplayPort 1.4 cables for every connection and a free USB-A port or 5 V USB charger to power the unit; without external power the switch will not pass a signal.

Will the TJ-A009 let me keep my older 1440p 144 Hz monitor while I add a new 4K 120 Hz display?

Yes — the switch is backward compatible with earlier DP standards and supports 1440p at 144 Hz on one output and 4K at 120 Hz on the other, though only one display can be active at a time.
