What this cable does

The Jansicotek TJ-A285 is a DisplayPort 2.0 cable built for high-resolution video. It carries up to 80 Gbps bandwidth and supports 16K at 60 Hz with DSC, 8K at 120 Hz, 4K at 240 Hz and 2K at 360 Hz. The 3.3 ft male-to-male link is backward compatible with DisplayPort 1.4, 1.3, 1.2 and earlier versions.

The spec that decides fit

Bandwidth of 80 Gbps and HBR3 signalling determine whether your source and display can run the listed resolutions and refresh rates. Both the graphics card and the monitor must support DisplayPort 2.0 or the target mode will fall back to a lower standard. HDCP 2.2 and DSC 1.2a are also required for protected 16K content.

Who should buy and who should not

Gamers and creators driving 4K at 165 Hz or 240 Hz, 8K at 120 Hz or 16K at 60 Hz will use the full 80 Gbps path. Buyers whose hardware tops out at DisplayPort 1.4 or who only need 4K at 60 Hz will not benefit from the extra headroom and can choose a lower-specification cable.

Questions about this item

What does the 80 Gbps bandwidth mean for my display setup?

It allows 16K at 60 Hz, 8K at 120 Hz, 4K at 240 Hz, or 2K at 360 Hz when both source and monitor support those modes.

How does the DisplayPort 2.0 interface limit what I can run?

The cable is rated for 80 Gbps and HBR3, so the practical ceiling is set by your GPU and monitor — DSC 1.2a helps reach 16K 60 Hz within that bandwidth.

Will the 3.3 ft green cable fit behind my desk without strain?

At 3.3 ft with a slim, buckle-free connector and flexible nylon braid, it routes easily in tight spaces and the male-to-male plugs seat without a groove latch.
