Connects a USB device to a VGA display for multi-monitor setups, supporting 1920x1080 at 60Hz over USB 3.0 and 800x600 at 60Hz over USB 2.0
This adapter connects a USB-enabled laptop or desktop to a VGA monitor, projector or TV, adding a second display for extended or mirrored desktop modes. It draws power from the USB port so no external power supply is needed. The compact blue housing fits easily in a laptop bag for portable use.
On a USB 3.0 port the adapter supports up to 1920x1080 at 60Hz. When plugged into a USB 2.0 port it falls back to 800x600 at 60Hz because the older bus cannot sustain the higher data rate. The device is backward compatible but the lower resolution is a hard limit of the USB 2.0 interface.
This single specification decides whether the adapter matches the target display. If the monitor or projector requires a higher resolution or refresh rate, this adapter will not meet the requirement. For standard 1080p VGA screens it provides a direct, driver-free connection on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.

USB 3.0 delivers up to 1920x1080 at 60 Hz; USB 2.0 drops to 800x600 at 60 Hz.
It means you can extend or mirror a Full HD desktop at a smooth 60 Hz refresh rate, provided the host uses a USB 3.0 connection.
It uses USB 3.0 and caps the output at 1920x1080@60Hz; on USB 2.0 the cap falls to 800x600@60Hz.
