7.2-Channel AV Receiver with 8K Video

This JBL MA Series receiver handles 7.2-channel surround sound and passes 8K video signals through its HDMI connections. It decodes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for object-based audio formats. Five, seven, or nine channels of Class D amplification drive speakers with low noise. The unit is Dirac Live Ready for advanced room correction when licensed.

Home Cinema Buyers Wanting Height Channels

Suits owners building a 7.1.2 or 5.1.4 immersive layout with overhead or up-firing speakers. Buyers who only need a basic 5.1 system without height channels will not use the extra processing. Those requiring more than two HDMI outputs for multiple display zones should look elsewhere. Users without network access lose AirPlay 2 and Chromecast streaming.

Dirac Live Ready Room Correction

The receiver ships prepared for Dirac Live software, which measures and corrects room acoustics for each listening position. Running the full correction requires a separate Dirac licence purchase. Without that licence, the hardware operates with standard EZ Set EQ only. Buyers who want automated room EQ included in the box cannot get it here.

Questions about this item

Will the 7.2-channel receiver drive my existing 5.1 speaker set?

Yes, the receiver supports 5.1, 5.2, 7.1 and 7.2 configurations, so your current 5.1 speakers will work and you can add two more channels later.

How do I confirm Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are playing correctly?

The on-screen display shows the active audio format and channel layout; when Atmos or DTS:X content plays, the receiver lights the corresponding indicator and maps height channels to your speaker setup.

Does the box include speaker wire or a Dirac Live licence?

The package contains the receiver, remote, power cord, calibration microphone and quick-start guide; speaker cables and a Dirac Live licence are sold separately.
