Exact fit for Grainger 42W822

This electrostatic outer filter is built to match the Grainger 42W822 and 817FF0 part numbers, and it also fits the manufacturer models 708620B and 713000. It serves as a direct replacement filter for those specific HVAC units.

Transparent electrostatic media captures fine

The filter uses a transparent electrostatic media rated at a 5-micron filter height to trap airborne dust and debris before they reach the main unit. Because it is an outer filter, it extends the service life of the internal filtration stages and reduces maintenance frequency.

Simple drop-in installation with dimensional checks

The filter measures 1 inch high by 12 inches long by 24 inches wide, so verify the housing opening matches those dimensions before ordering. A common issue is installing the filter backwards; the airflow direction arrow on the frame must point toward the blower for correct operation.

Questions about this item

How often will the electrostatic outer filter need to be replaced?

Replacement timing depends on airflow volume and dust load; inspect the filter regularly and change it when the transparent media appears visibly loaded or airflow drops.

What limits filter life during continuous operation?

The 5-micron rating captures fine particles, so heavy particulate environments will load the media faster and become the first limiting factor.

Does the filter add noticeable noise, heat or power draw when the system runs all day?

The passive electrostatic media adds no motor noise, no heat and no electrical draw; resistance to airflow is the only system effect.
