Kit Contents

This Kastar kit supplies two lithium-ion batteries rated at 7.2 volts and 1550 milliampere-hours each, plus a compact AC wall charger. The combination suits owners of compatible Sony Handycam and Action Cam models who want spare power and a convenient mains charger in one purchase.

Replaces Original Accessories

The batteries replace Sony NP-FV30, NP-FV40, NP-FV50, NP-FV70, NP-FV70A, NP-FV90 and NP-FV100 packs, while the charger substitutes for Sony BC-TRV, BC-VH1 and AC-VQH10 units. Upgrading is worthwhile when original cells no longer hold a full day’s charge or when the factory charger has been lost or damaged.

Check Compatibility First

Verify that your camcorder appears in the supported model list, which includes numerous DCR, HDR, FDR, DEV and PJ series units. The charger operates on 100 to 240 volt AC input with a foldable flat plug, so confirm your local mains socket accepts the pin style before ordering.

Questions about this item

Will the foldable flat plug on the charger fit a standard UK wall socket?

The charger uses a foldable flat plug designed for North American outlets; a UK socket requires a travel adapter.

How do I insert the NP-FV50 battery into the charger so the LED shows red while charging?

Align the battery contacts with the charger slots, slide it in until it clicks, then confirm the red LED lights; green means full or standby.

When should I replace the 1550 mAh NP-FV50 batteries in this kit?

Replace them when runtime drops noticeably or they no longer hold a full charge after the green LED appears.
