What this charger replaces

This Kastar AC wall charger replaces the Sony AC-VQ11 and AC-VF10 units. It charges Sony NP-F10, NP-FS10, NP-FS11, NP-FS12, FS21 and FS31 batteries used in a long list of Sony camcorders and Cyber-shot cameras. The foldable flat plug makes it easy to pack for travel or studio use.

Voltage and current you must match

The charger accepts AC 100-240V at 50-60Hz and delivers DC 4.2V at 600mA. Your battery must be a 4.2V Li-Ion type from the compatible list; using a different chemistry or voltage can damage the cells or leave them undercharged.

Plug in and watch the LED

Insert the battery, fold out the flat pins and connect to mains power. A red LED shows charging in progress; green means the battery is full or the charger is on standby. The only common mistake is leaving a deeply discharged pack on the charger too long — remove it once the light turns green.

Questions about this item

What does the 600 mA output mean for charging my NP-FS11 battery?

The charger delivers 600 mA at 4.2 V, so a typical NP-FS11 pack will reach full charge in a few hours rather than minutes.

What AC input range does the charger accept and what does that limit?

It accepts 100–240 V at 50–60 Hz, letting you plug it into mains sockets worldwide without a voltage converter.

How much space does the folded plug need in a bag or outlet strip?

The unit measures 3 by 2 by 1 inches with the flat plug folded, so it fits in tight power strips and small camera bags.
