The kit supplies four 3.7 V lithium-ion cells rated at 1900 mAh and 7.1 Wh each, matching the Canon BP-718 form factor. A single LTD2 charger accepts two batteries at once and connects through Micro-USB or USB-C inputs. Compatible camcorders include the VIXIA HF R32, R36, R37, R38, R40 and R42 models.

Sustained charging and run-time behaviour

Each cell delivers 8.4 V at 800 mA whether one or two batteries are seated, so the second slot does not slow the first. The 15 W input limit means a full cycle takes roughly the same wall-clock time regardless of load, and the LCD readout shows live capacity percentage. Heat stays low because the charger regulates current per bay independently.

Installation notes and common issues

Batteries drop into the camcorder exactly like the original BP-718 units, and the charger plates swap without tools for other Canon packs such as BP-709 or BP-727. The only frequent hiccup is forgetting to seat the battery fully in the charger — the LCD will stay blank until the contacts click. A Micro-USB cable is included; USB-C cables must be supplied by the user.
