Quadruple Charger for Canon Camcorders

This Kastar BP-820 charger powers four Canon BP-820 or BP-828 batteries simultaneously. It supports a wide range of Canon XA and VIXIA camcorders including the XA10 through XA75 and VIXIA HF G21 through G70 models. The unit swaps charging plates to fit different battery types.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

The charger accepts 5 V at 2–3 A for a 15 W input via Micro-USB or USB-C. It delivers 8.4 V at 800 mA when charging one or two batteries and 500 mA each when charging three or four. An intelligent display shows real-time charging status and battery capacity.

Interchangeable Plates and USB-C Cable

Swappable plates let the same dock charge different Canon battery packs without extra equipment. A USB-C cable is included so the unit can run from common power banks or wall adapters. The compact 3.5 by 2 by 2.5 inch form factor fits easily in a gear bag.

Questions about this item

How do I install the BP-820 charger and what step is often missed?

Connect the Type-C cable to the Type-C input, then plug the Micro-USB or Type-C into a 5V 2-3A 15W power source; the step often missed is using a supply that delivers the full 2-3A so all four slots can charge at their rated current.

What maintenance or replacement will the BP-820 need later?

The charger has no user-serviceable parts; keep the Type-C cable and both input ports free of dust, and replace the cable if the connectors become loose or damaged.

What limit appears first when the BP-820 runs all four slots continuously?

With three or four batteries inserted the output drops to 500mA per slot, so total charge time per battery becomes the limiting factor under sustained use.
