USB dual charger for Canon camcorders

The Kastar LTD2 charges two compatible Canon BP-series batteries at the same time. It accepts power from a Micro-USB or USB-C source and shows charge level on an LCD panel. The unit delivers 4.2 V at 800 mA per slot and includes a Micro-USB cable. It is designed for users who need a compact, multi-bay charger for field or studio use.

For owners of listed VIXIA and LEGRIA models

This charger works with the BP-708, BP-709, BP-718 and BP-727 batteries used in many Canon VIXIA HF and LEGRIA HF camcorders from the M, R and M300-R800 series. Videographers who rely on those packs can charge a spare while shooting. Buyers who need more than two simultaneous charge bays or who use batteries outside the listed BP range should look at something else.

Dual-bay simultaneous charging

The single specification that decides fit is the ability to charge two batteries at once from a single 5 V USB input. If your workflow requires only one battery at a time, a single-slot charger may be smaller. If you need two slots and USB power, this unit matches that requirement.

Questions about this item

Should I pick a single-slot or dual-slot version of this charger?

This unit charges two BP-727 batteries at the same time, so you do not need a separate single-slot model.

What does the 800 mA output mean when I put a depleted BP-727 in the charger?

Each slot delivers 4.2 V at 800 mA, giving a typical full charge in roughly two to three hours per battery.

Which USB inputs does the LTD2 accept and what power do they need?

It has Micro-USB and USB-C ports, both rated for 5 V at 2–3 A (15 W total) to run both slots simultaneously.
