Four-Battery Kit with Foldable Charger

This pack supplies four lithium-ion cells and a compact AC wall charger for Sony Handycam and Cyber-shot owners who need extended shooting time away from mains power. Each cell stores 17 Wh at 7.4 V, matching the original NP-FM50 form factor.

Sustained Output and Heat Management

The charger delivers a steady 8.4 V at 600 mA, so a fully depleted 2300 mAh battery reaches full charge in roughly four hours without the rapid current spikes that accelerate cell ageing. LED indicators show red while charging and green once the pack is ready, preventing accidental overcharge during overnight sessions.

Voltage Window and Connector Limits

The kit works only with devices that accept the 7.4 V NP-FM series footprint and the Sony BC-VM50, BC-VM10 or BC-V615 charger interface. Cameras or camcorders requiring higher-voltage packs or proprietary communication pins will not power on, and the foldable flat plug fits standard 100-240 V outlets but cannot supply USB-C or barrel-jack loads.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does the Kastar NP-FM50 charger produce when left plugged in all day?

The AC wall charger runs silently with no fan, and its foldable flat plug stays cool during extended charging sessions.

What must I already own for the Kastar NP-FM50 batteries to work in my camera?

Your Sony camcorder or camera must accept NP-FM50, NP-FM55H, NP-FM70, NP-FM71, NP-FM90, NP-FM91 or equivalent InfoLITHIUM packs listed in the compatibility data.

Will the Kastar NP-FM50 batteries communicate correctly with my older Sony CCD-TRV138 camcorder?

Yes, the 7.4 V 2300 mAh lithium-ion cells are recognised by the CCD-TRV138 and show remaining capacity on its LCD, just like the original NP-FM50.
