Charges Sony NP-FM500H batteries from 100–240 V AC with a foldable plug and LED status indicator
This Kastar AC wall charger is designed to replenish Sony NP-FM500H lithium-ion packs. It suits photographers using compatible Alpha and SLT cameras who need a compact mains charger for home or travel use. The unit accepts worldwide AC input and plugs directly into a wall outlet. No battery is included in the pack.
The charger operates from 100 to 240 volts AC at 50 to 60 hertz and delivers 8.4 volts DC at 600 milliamps. A foldable flat pin allows the adapter to lie flat for storage. An LED shows red while charging and green when the cell reaches full charge or sits in standby. The small enclosure measures three by two by one inches.
The adapter plugs straight into a mains socket without a separate cable, freeing bench space and removing cable clutter. It replaces the Sony BC-VM10 and AC-SQ950 chargers and supports a long list of Alpha and SLT bodies from the A200 through the A900 series. Builders needing multi-bay charging or in-car power will need a different solution.

Other versions of this model
Plug the foldable flat pins into a 100~240 V AC outlet, then insert the NP-FM500H battery; the red LED shows charging and green shows full — the step people miss is waiting for the green light before removing the battery.
The charger itself has no user-serviceable parts; keep the foldable pins clean and the vents clear, and replace the unit only if the LED fails to change from red to green on a known-good NP-FM500H battery.
The 600 mA output current is the limiting factor — charging a depleted NP-FM500H battery takes several hours and the charger will not deliver more current even if left plugged in continuously.
