Kastar NP-FZ100 AC Wall Charger

This Kastar AC wall charger powers Sony NP-FZ100 lithium-ion batteries used in Alpha series cameras. It accepts 100-240V AC input at 50-60Hz and delivers 8.4V DC at 600mA. A foldable flat plug makes the unit compact for travel or studio use.

For Sony Alpha shooters needing a spare charger

Photographers using Sony Alpha 9, A7 III, A7 IV, A7R III, A7R IV, A7R V, A6600, A7C, Alpha 1, FX3 or FX30 bodies can charge NP-FZ100 packs directly from a wall outlet. Buyers who need simultaneous multi-bay charging or in-camera USB power delivery should look at other solutions.

Plug in and connect the battery

Installation requires only unfolding the flat pins, inserting the charger into a mains socket and sliding an NP-FZ100 battery into the cradle. A red LED shows charging; green indicates standby or full charge. The fixed 600mA rate means a depleted pack takes several hours, so plan charge cycles ahead of a shoot.

Questions about this item

Do I need to supply my own Sony NP-FZ100 battery for this charger to work?

Yes, the Kastar charger is sold without a battery and is designed to charge Sony NP-FZ100 lithium-ion packs used in Alpha 9, A7 III, A7 IV, A7R series, A6600, A1, FX3 and FX30 cameras.

Will the Kastar charger work with the original Sony BC-QZ1 or NPA-MQZ1K chargers I already own?

The Kastar unit replaces those Sony chargers; it accepts the same NP-FZ100 battery and delivers an 8.4 V 600 mA output from a 100–240 V AC supply, so you can use it instead of the BC-QZ1 or NPA-MQZ1K.

How do I know the charger is operating correctly once I plug it in?

The built-in LED shows red while the battery is charging and switches to green when the battery reaches full charge or the charger is in standby.
