Kastar Quadruple Charger for Sony NP-FW50

This charger powers up to four Sony NP-FW50 batteries simultaneously from a single USB source. It suits photographers and videographers who run multiple camera bodies or long shoots with Alpha and NEX models listed in the compatibility data.

Swappable plates and dual USB inputs add flexibility

Interchangeable plates let the unit charge other battery types beyond the NP-FW50. Micro-USB and USB-C inputs accept common power banks or wall adapters, while the included Type-C cable removes the need for a separate lead.

Compact desktop unit with intelligent status display

The 3.5 by 2 by 2.5 inch housing fits on a crowded bench and shows real-time capacity for each slot. Output scales from 8.4V 800mA for one or two batteries to 500mA when three or four are loaded, so charge times extend as more cells are added.

Questions about this item

Do the charging plates wear out and need replacing after heavy use?

The charger uses fixed NP-FW50 slots rather than interchangeable plates, so there are no plates to replace.

When charging four NP-FW50 batteries together, what limits the charge speed?

With three or four batteries inserted the output drops to 500 mA per slot, so total current is the limiting factor.

Does the charger get hot or noisy when running all day with four batteries?

No fan is fitted; the unit relies on passive cooling and the 15 W input keeps heat low during continuous operation.
