Quadruple USB Charger for Sony NP-FW50

This Kastar charger powers up to four Sony NP-FW50 compatible batteries simultaneously. It accepts Micro-USB or USB-C input at 5V 2-3A and includes a USB-C cable. The unit suits photographers using Alpha, NEX, Cyber-shot RX10 or ZV-E10 bodies who need multiple cells ready for a full day of shooting.

Sustained charging behaviour

When one or two batteries are inserted the charger delivers 8.4V at 800mA per slot. With three or four batteries the output drops to 500mA each, so total power stays within the 15W input limit. The intelligent display shows individual capacity and status, letting you monitor progress without guessing.

Build and daily use

The compact 3.5 by 2 by 2.5 inch housing fits easily in a gear bag. Interchangeable plates allow the same chassis to charge other battery types when needed. Dual USB inputs mean you can power it from a wall adapter, power bank or laptop port without carrying a dedicated AC brick.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does the Kastar NP-FW50 charger produce when all four slots are running continuously?

The charger draws 15 W from its 5 V input and has no fan, so it runs silently and only warms slightly during extended use.

What power source must I already have to run the Kastar NP-FW50 quad charger?

You need a USB power adapter that can supply 5 V at 2 to 3 A, plus either a Micro-USB or USB-C cable; a Type-C cable is included.

Will the Kastar NP-FW50 charger work with the older Sony NP-FW50 batteries I already own for my Alpha 6000?

Yes, it charges Sony NP-FW50 batteries used in the Alpha 6000, Alpha 6300, Alpha 6500 and many other E-mount models.
