Controls two computers from one 4K 60 Hz monitor with four USB ports and a desktop controller
This KVM switch lets you operate two computers from a single monitor, keyboard, mouse and printer. Four USB 2.0 ports share peripherals across both systems without re-plugging cables. A wired desktop controller provides instant switching when the main unit is tucked away. Both USB-B cables must be connected to supply power and data for proper operation.
The switch passes video up to 4K at 60 Hz and also handles 4K at 30 Hz or 2560 x 1440 at 120 Hz. HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2/1.4 compliance keeps protected content playing correctly. HDR and 3D formats are supported for richer colour and depth. Input and output resolutions should match to avoid signal issues.
Switching between computers takes roughly 5 to 7 seconds at 4K 60 Hz and about 3 to 5 seconds at 1080p 60 Hz as the display re-syncs. The desktop controller or front button both trigger the change without software or hotkeys. Wireless keyboard and mouse receivers work through the USB ports, though initial pairing takes slightly longer than a wired set.

Connect both USB-A to USB-B cables to the two computers for power and data, then attach the monitor via HDMI and plug the keyboard and mouse into the front USB ports. The step people miss is leaving one USB-B cable unplugged, which cuts power to the USB hub and stops the keyboard and mouse from working.
No scheduled maintenance is required. If the supplied HDMI or USB-A to USB-B cables become damaged or too short for a new desk layout, replace them with cables rated for 4K 60 Hz and USB 2.0 data. The desktop controller button is mechanical and may eventually wear out after heavy daily use.
The HDMI 2.0 bandwidth caps video at 4K 60 Hz, 2560 x 1440 at 120 Hz, or 1080p at 60 Hz. Switching between computers causes a brief black screen of 3 to 7 seconds depending on the monitor resolution. USB peripherals are limited to USB 2.0 speeds, so high-speed storage or 10 Gbps devices will not reach full performance.
