Two-way radio for team coordination

The KEHIPI S1 is a UHF two-way radio sold as a two-pack for adults who need reliable voice communication across multiple groups. Each unit provides 16 channels and 155 privacy codes so separate teams can operate without interference. Built-in VOX with five sensitivity levels allows hands-free operation while a flashlight and emergency alarm add safety utility. The radios are water-resistant and FCC certified for licence-free use.

Range expectations and battery headroom

In open coastal areas the radios reach up to 3 miles, dropping to 1.2 miles in suburban terrain and .6 miles among city buildings. A 1500 mAh lithium-ion cell delivers up to 120 hours on standby or 12 hours of continuous talk time before a 3 to 4 hour recharge is required. Heavy daily use will shorten the practical window to the lower end of that span, so plan charging cycles accordingly.

Sixteen-channel UHF constraint

The fixed 16-channel UHF layout limits the system to licence-free frequencies and prevents expansion to wider-band or programmable commercial allocations. Buyers who need more channels, trunking capability or VHF marine bands should look elsewhere. The radio’s feature set is locked to the supplied firmware with no user-accessible frequency programming beyond the 155 privacy codes.

Questions about this item

Will the 16-channel UHF radios work with my older UHF handsets that use privacy codes?

Yes, the radios offer 155 privacy codes on 16 UHF channels, so they can match the channel and code settings of compatible older UHF handsets.

How can I confirm the 1500 mAh battery is charging correctly after I plug it in?

A full charge takes 3-4 hours from empty; after charging you should see up to 120 hours standby or up to 12 hours continuous use if the battery is healthy.

The pack mentions earpieces — are both earpieces and the charging hardware included, or do I need to buy anything extra?

The 2-pack includes two radios, two earpieces, two 1500 mAh Li-ion batteries and charging equipment; no separate purchase is required for basic operation.
