Receiver and Camera Kit

The Kenwood DMX958XR is a 6.8" digital multimedia receiver paired with a CMOS-320LP universal rear-view camera. It targets drivers who want a high-definition capacitive touchscreen and extensive smartphone integration in a single installation. The bundle adds a waterproof camera with multiple view modes and parking guidelines. Both components are supplied new.

Build Integration

The receiver fits a standard dashboard opening and provides four camera inputs ready for HD rear cameras. It includes three 5.0V pre-outs for external amplifiers and a USB Type-C connection for media or charging. The camera kit supplies a 24.5' cable harness with data connections and a license-plate mounting kit, simplifying wiring through the vehicle. Wireless Android mirroring and wired or wireless Apple CarPlay reduce cable clutter at the dash.

Who This Suits

This kit suits owners who want a 6.8" HD touchscreen, 13-band EQ with digital time alignment, and a 195° ultra-wide camera view with overhead and corner split-screen modes. Buyers needing more than four camera inputs or a display larger than 6.8" should look elsewhere. Those requiring a sensor resolution above 325,000 pixels or a viewing angle beyond 195° horizontal will need a different camera system.

Questions about this item

How many camera inputs does the DMX958XR provide for simultaneous views?

The receiver offers four camera inputs and is HD rear camera ready, allowing multiple angles to be connected at once.

Does the CMOS-320LP camera generate noticeable heat or noise during continuous operation?

The CMOS-320LP is a passive waterproof camera with no moving parts, so it produces no audible noise and negligible heat while running all day.

What wiring must already be present in the vehicle for the camera to function?

The included 24.5' cable harness with data connections links the camera to the receiver, so a compatible power and ground circuit for the head unit is required.
