A double-DIN digital media receiver with a 6.95-inch capacitive touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, built-in HD Radio, 13-band graphic EQ and a supplied DRV-N520 camera
The Kenwood eXcelon DMX908S is a double-DIN digital multimedia receiver with a 6.95" capacitive touchscreen. It delivers wireless and wired Apple CarPlay plus Android Auto, built-in Bluetooth, and an HD Radio tuner. A bundled DRV-N520 camera adds a dedicated video input for parking assistance.
Drivers who want smartphone integration on a widescreen 16:9 display with 800 x 480 resolution and 1,152,000 pixels will benefit. Buyers needing a single-DIN chassis or a larger 7-inch class panel should look elsewhere. The unit also requires a double-DIN dashboard opening.
The 13-band graphic EQ provides detailed tonal control across the audio spectrum. Combined with time alignment and a 3-way crossover, it lets you tune the system precisely for your vehicle interior. If you only need basic bass and treble controls, a simpler receiver may suffice.

Connect the DRV-N520 to one of the four camera inputs on the DMX908S and route the reverse-gear trigger wire to the receiver's control input; the step most installers forget is enabling the correct camera source in the settings menu after wiring.
The 6.95" capacitive touchscreen and the DRV-N520 camera lens may need cleaning; the micro-USB or Type-C port on the receiver can wear from repeated cable insertion, and the camera's adhesive mount may need re-seating after years of vibration.
The 800 x 480 pixel LCD can become harder to read in direct sunlight, and the receiver's internal thermal protection may dim the 1,152,000-pixel backlight before any other limit is reached.
