Self-contained full-spectrum laser sensor detects objects from 30 to 500 mm with selectable response times down to 200 µs and M12 4-pin connection
The Keyence LR-W500C is a self-contained laser sensor with an M12 4-pin connector. It detects objects across a 30 to 500 mm range using a full-spectrum laser source. Selectable response times from 200 µs to 500 ms allow tuning for speed or stability. Output logic and NPN/PNP mode are configurable for integration flexibility.
This sensor suits automation tasks that require configurable response speed and output type within a 10 to 30 VDC supply. Builders needing detection beyond 500 mm or an analog output signal should look elsewhere. The mutual interference function supports only two units when alternate frequencies are set. Applications requiring more than two closely mounted sensors need a different approach.
The detecting distance of 30 to 500 mm is the primary specification that determines fit. Verify that the target presence falls inside this window before selecting the LR-W500C. The sensor operates on 10 to 30 VDC including ripple and draws 65 mA or less at 24 VDC without load. Ambient conditions of -20 to +50 °C and 35 to 85 % RH must also be met.

The sensor consumes 65 mA or less at 24 VDC without a load, so power draw stays low during all-day operation.
You need a 10 to 30 VDC Class 2 or LPS supply and an M12 4-pin cable to match the sensor's connector.
Yes, the mutual interference reduction function supports up to two units when alternate frequencies are selected.
