Replacing Exposed or Unsecured Doorbell

The mount upgrades a doorbell that is simply screwed or taped to the frame by enclosing the unit in a lockable shell that cannot be removed without tools. The improvement is worthwhile when the entrance is accessible to the public and the original mounting leaves the device vulnerable to opportunistic theft. It does not suit Blink 2nd Gen models or any doorbell exceeding the maximum dimensions.

Limits Set by Door Thickness and Opening Direction

The adjustable clip only accommodates door thicknesses between .6 and 2.3 inches, so thicker or thinner doors cannot be secured with this bracket. Installation requires the door to open inward; outward-swinging doors are not supported. Uneven or irregular door edges may prevent the bracket from seating correctly, and the doorbell itself is not included.
