4K Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Cable

The Kirzi cable carries 4K UHD video and multi-channel audio from a Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt 2 source to an HDMI display. It suits MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Surface Pro and other laptops or tablets that output over Mini DisplayPort. The six-foot length gives flexible placement for desk, meeting-room or home-theatre setups.

Replaces separate video and audio leads

A single uni-directional cable supersedes an adapter plus an HDMI lead, cutting clutter and potential failure points. The step up is worthwhile when the source supports 4K at 60 Hz or 1080p at 120 Hz and the display has a matching HDMI input. It does not serve users who need to drive an HDMI source into a Mini DisplayPort monitor.

Limited to Mini DisplayPort output only

The connector passes signals from Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt 2 ports to HDMI sinks; it cannot reverse that path. Maximum supported timings are 3840x2160 at 60 Hz, 2560x1440 at 60 Hz and 1920x1080 at 120 Hz with 7.1 or 5.1 audio. Longer runs or higher refresh rates at 4K would require an active solution not provided by this cable.

Questions about this item

What Mini DisplayPort size does this cable plug into?

The cable has a male Mini DisplayPort connector that fits the standard Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt 2 port on a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Surface Pro or compatible PC.

Do I need to install any driver before the cable works?

No driver is required; the cable is plug-and-play, but the Mini DisplayPort end must go into the computer and the HDMI end into the display — reversing them will not work.

How long can I expect the 4K 60 Hz signal to stay reliable?

The 6 ft length is designed to carry 4K at 60 Hz without signal loss; if the picture later drops out, the cable itself would be the part to replace.
