HD-SDI dome IR camera delivering 2.1 megapixel 1080p video at 30 fps through a 3.6 mm lens with 20 IR LEDs and IP66 weather protection
The KT&C KPC-HNV522 is a 2.1 megapixel analog dome camera built for HD-SDI systems. It captures Full 1080p video at 30 frames per second using a 1/3” Exmor CMOS sensor and a fixed 3.6mm lens. Twenty infrared LEDs provide night vision, and the IP66-rated housing suits outdoor or indoor mounting. Installers needing a straightforward coaxial camera for 1080p recording will find it fits the role.
The camera runs on DC12V only, drawing modest current through a single supply line. Video travels over HD-SDI via a BNC connector, with a secondary service output for local setup. The supplier recommends RG59 or RG6 cable with crimp or compression connectors to maintain signal integrity. No network configuration or PoE equipment is required, keeping the cabling and power plan simple.
A 3.6mm board lens gives a set field of view, so the camera suits scenes where zoom adjustment is not needed. True day/night switching uses an ICR mechanism, while D-WDR, 3DNR, DSS, BLC and AGC handle challenging light. Privacy masking and an on-screen display are configured locally. Builds that need varifocal optics, AC power input or IP streaming will need a different model.

Secure the dome base to a ceiling or wall, then run RG59 or RG6 coaxial cable with crimp or compression connectors to the BNC output; the step often missed is using proper HD-SDI rated connectors instead of standard twist-on BNCs, which causes signal loss at 1080p30.
The 20 IR LEDs and the ICR day/night filter mechanism are the primary wear items; LEDs dim gradually over years of night operation, while the mechanical filter can stick after repeated cycling, requiring module service.
The IP66-rated housing handles rain and dust, but sustained heat buildup inside the sealed dome can trigger thermal throttling of the EXMOR CMOS sensor, reducing frame consistency before any other component fails.
