Six-Inch Extension Cord for Tight Spaces

This six-inch cord extends a standard NEMA 5-15 outlet by a short length. It is built for indoor or outdoor use where a full-length cable would be excessive. The 14 AWG conductors support 15 amps at 125 volts. Home owners and office users gain a compact way to reach a nearby socket.

90-Degree Flat Plug Changes Clearance

The right-angle plug sits flush against the wall so furniture can be pushed close without bending the cable. It also prevents the plug from lifting a socket cover on a power strip or surge protector. Strain relief at the plug end reduces wear from repeated bending. The flat profile keeps the connection low-profile in crowded strips.

15-Amp Capacity Handles Major Appliances

Rated for 1875 watts, the cord runs refrigerators, space heaters, window air conditioners and power tools within its 15-amp limit. The 14 AWG gauge carries more current than thinner 16 or 18 AWG alternatives. It is not suited for loads that exceed 15 amps or for permanent outdoor installation without additional protection.

Questions about this item

How often should the SJTW 14AWG cord be inspected if used outdoors with a 15 A load?

Check the jacket and strain relief each season; replace the cord if the insulation shows cracking, cuts or the plug feels loose.

What limits continuous use at the 15 A 1875 W rating?

The 14 AWG copper conductors and NEMA 5-15P/R connectors set the hard limit; sustained loads above 15 A will trip the circuit breaker.

Does the 90-degree flat plug get noticeably warm when running a 1875 W load all day?

A slight temperature rise at the blades is normal at full rating; the UL-listed design keeps it within safe limits for continuous indoor or outdoor use.
