A 1-inch snap-on polyethylene bushing protects cables inside EMT conduit with a tool-free fit
The L.H. DOTTIE EMTB100 is a snap-on polyethylene bushing sized for one-inch electrical metallic tubing. It provides a smooth, white insulated surface that protects wire insulation from sharp conduit edges during pulls. Electricians and low-voltage installers use it to meet code requirements for bushings at box entries and conduit terminations.
This plastic bushing replaces traditional zinc or steel bushings where a non-conductive, corrosion-resistant option is preferred. The jump is worth it when working in damp locations or when a white finish is needed for aesthetic matching with surrounding materials. It eliminates the need for separate grounding of the bushing itself.
Installation requires no tools; the bushing snaps onto the conduit end by hand. The main issue is ensuring the conduit end is cut square and deburred so the snap fingers engage fully. If the tubing is crushed or out-of-round, the bushing may not seat securely and could dislodge during wire pulling.
