Product Identity

The Laird TRA24003 is a white omnidirectional antenna built for the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band. It suits installers adding 802.11b/g/n coverage to vehicles, kiosks or fixed enclosures.

Mounting Reality

The antenna needs a standard NMO mount and a metal ground plane such as a vehicle roof or enclosure wall to perform as specified. Without that conductive surface the radiation pattern and gain will degrade noticeably.

What Changes

No cables, connectors or configuration software are included in the package. The buyer must source a compatible NMO mount and coaxial run separately before the antenna can be deployed.

Questions about this item

What frequency range does the 2.4 GHz antenna cover and what gain does it provide?

The antenna operates across the 2400-2500 MHz band and delivers 3 dBi gain for 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi applications.

What mounting hardware and surface does the NMO antenna require?

It needs a standard NMO mount and a metal ground plane such as a vehicle roof, kiosk body, or metal enclosure wall.

How is the Phantom antenna installed and which step is often missed?

Fit the NMO mount through the chosen metal surface, secure it, then screw the antenna onto the mount; the step often missed is ensuring the mount makes solid electrical contact with the ground plane.
