Measures paint and coating thickness up to 1000 µm on ferrous and non-ferrous metals with dual magnetic-induction and eddy-current probes
The LANDTEK CM-8822 is a paint coating thickness meter designed for professionals who need to verify coating depth on metal substrates. It suits automotive inspectors, electricians and quality-control staff checking finish consistency on ferrous or non-ferrous surfaces.
The instrument combines magnetic-induction (F) and eddy-current (N) probes to cover non-magnetic coatings on steel and non-conductive coatings on non-magnetic metals up to 1000µm. Single and continuous measurement modes handle flat panels, curved profiles and small components, while automatic substrate recognition and stored calibration values keep readings repeatable.
The red handheld unit runs on standard batteries with selectable metric or imperial readout and an audible beep in single mode that is silenced during continuous scanning. Auto power-off preserves charge between jobs. Supplied as a single packed box, it requires no external power supply or computer link, freeing bench space for immediate on-site checks.

Yes, the F probe uses magnetic induction to measure non-magnetic coatings on magnetic metals, matching the method of legacy F-type gauges.
The gauge stores the calibration value automatically and recognises the substrate; a buzzing reminder sounds during each single-mode reading to confirm operation.
The supplier title lists an F/NF probe, indicating both magnetic-induction and eddy-current probes are supplied in the single pack.
