Connects one RS232 serial device to a 10/100 Ethernet network through a single DB9F port
The Lantronix XDT2321002-01-S adds a 10/100 Ethernet link to any equipment that still uses a DB9F RS232 port. It suits engineers and integrators who need to bring legacy instruments, controllers or consoles onto a managed LAN without replacing the host device.
The unit draws power from an external source or via PoE and occupies only a compact footprint of 1.14 by 1.30 by 9.45 inches. One RJ-45 jack connects to the network while the single serial connector frees the host from a dedicated PC or long cable run.
It replaces a direct serial cable or an older terminal server that lacks web-based management and 921.6 Kbps throughput. The jump is worthwhile when remote monitoring, centralized logging or secure access over IP are required for a single serial endpoint.

The single-port design supports one RS-232 connection at up to 921.6 Kbps; sustained throughput is limited by the 10/100 Ethernet link and 256 KB SDRAM buffer.
The compact 29 x 33 x 240 mm enclosure has no fan and draws little power, so it runs silently with only modest warmth during 24/7 operation.
You need a DB9 male-to-male RS-232 cable for the DCE-pinned port and either a PoE-enabled switch or a 5 V DC supply (not included).
