15M Mellanox active IB FDR fibre cable

The Lenovo 00KF010 is a 42.91 ft active optical cable built for InfiniBand FDR links. It suits data-centre racks and high-performance compute clusters that need reliable 15 metre reaches.

Capacity and headroom

The 15M length covers typical intra-rack and adjacent-rack runs without signal repeaters. Runs beyond this distance would require additional infrastructure or longer cable variants.

Thermals noise and power draw

Active optical construction eliminates the bulk and heat of copper at this reach. The cable draws modest power from the transceiver ports and operates silently in normal use.

Questions about this item

Will the 15M Mellanox active IB FDR OP fiber cable connect to my existing FDR InfiniBand switches and HBAs?

The cable uses standard FDR InfiniBand optical interfaces, so it will link with any compliant FDR switch port or host adapter you already have.

How can I verify the 42.91 ft cable is operating correctly after installation?

Check the link status LEDs on both ports and run ibdiagnet or the switch firmware health check; a clean link with zero symbol errors confirms proper operation.

What comes in the box with the Lenovo 00KF010 and do I need to buy transceivers separately?

The cable is a factory-terminated active optical assembly with connectors already integrated, so no separate transceivers are required.
