ThinkPad T450S refurbished business Ultrabook

This Lenovo ThinkPad T450S is a seller-refurbished 14.0 inch business Ultrabook graded A with little-to-no wear. It ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit and an AC adapter. The Intel Core i5-5300U processor runs at 2.30 GHz with 12GB DDR3L memory and a SATA 2.5 inch 256GB SSD. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 drives the non-touch display.

Connectivity limits of the integrated wireless

Wireless connectivity uses 802.11ac WLAN; Bluetooth is not included. Three USB ports provide peripheral connections alongside an audio port and integrated sound. The integrated graphics restrict external display output to the capabilities of the HD 5500 controller. Battery life reaches up to 17 hours on a full charge.

Soldered 12GB memory ceiling defines upgrade path

Maximum supported memory is 12GB, so the installed capacity cannot be increased. The SATA 2.5 inch SSD can be replaced with a larger SATA drive if more storage is required. Buyers needing more than 12GB RAM or discrete graphics should consider a different platform.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 12 GB DDR3L memory and 256 GB SATA SSD configuration or look for a different capacity?

This unit ships with 12 GB DDR3L at the 12 GB maximum and a 256 GB SATA 2.5" SSD; no larger memory or storage options are listed for this model.

What does the 2.30 GHz Core i5-5300U deliver in daily Windows 10 Pro use?

The dual-core 2.30 GHz Core i5-5300U with integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles office apps, web browsing and video playback smoothly within the 12 GB memory ceiling.

How fast is the SATA 2.5" 256 GB SSD interface in practice?

The drive uses a SATA 2.5" connection, so sequential transfers are limited to the SATA 6 Gbit/s link speed rather than faster interfaces.
