Lenovo 1U Switch Air Duct Kit 00WE081

This air duct kit is designed for Lenovo 1U switch installations inside enterprise rack cabinets. It directs airflow through the switch chassis to maintain stable operating temperatures. The component suits data-centre technicians and network engineers who manage rack-mounted switching infrastructure.

Compatibility check before ordering

Verify that the target rack cabinet accepts 1U form-factor accessories and that the specific Lenovo switch model matches the duct mounting points. Confirm available clearance above and below the switch slot so the duct can seat without interfering with adjacent equipment or cable routing.

Thermals noise and power draw

The passive duct adds no active cooling components, so it introduces zero additional power draw and produces no audible noise. By channelling existing rack airflow directly through the switch, it helps the unit stay within its thermal envelope during normal operation.

Questions about this item

Does the Lenovo 00WE081 air duct kit include mounting hardware or must brackets be purchased separately?

The kit is supplied as the air duct only; any rack rails, screws or brackets required for installation are not included and must be sourced separately.

Is the 00WE081 the only 1U switch air duct variant Lenovo offers for enterprise racks?

Lenovo lists this single part number for 1U switch airflow management; no alternative capacities or versions appear in the product data.

How does fitting the 00WE081 duct change airflow inside a populated 1U switch chassis?

The duct channels front-to-rear cooling air directly through the switch, reducing hot-spot temperatures and helping the chassis fans maintain their rated airflow.
