Lenovo 45K0433 8X Slimline Sata Drive

This Lenovo 45K0433 is an 8X Slimline Sata internal DVD RW drive built for thin workstations or servers needing optical media support. It fits 5.1 millimetre height bays and uses the standard Sata interface for host connection. The unit is supplied new and targets IT teams maintaining legacy software deployments or offline backup routines.

Sustained write behaviour

During long write sessions the 8X rating holds steady across the disc surface without the speed drops seen in burst-only benchmarks. The Slimline form factor limits thermal mass so the drive throttles gradually rather than stopping abruptly when the chassis airflow is restricted. Buyers who need higher sustained throughput or dual-layer Blu-ray support should select a full-height alternative.

Questions about this item

How much noise or heat does the 8X Slimline SATA DVD RW produce during all-day operation?

The drive runs at a standard 8X speed and draws power only when reading or writing, so fan noise and heat output remain low in typical use.

What must my system already have for the Lenovo 45K0433 to install and function?

It needs an available internal SATA port, a matching SATA power connector, and a slimline optical bay that accepts the drive’s form factor.
