15.3 inch touch laptop with 1 TB storage

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is a new 15.3 inch Windows 11 Home laptop. It uses an AMD Ryzen 5 8540U processor with a base clock of 3.20 GHz and a boost up to 4.90 GHz. Integrated AMD Radeon 740M graphics drive the 1920 x 1200 IPS touchscreen. The system includes 16 GB DDR5 memory and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD configured as two 512 GB modules.

Home users wanting touch and all-day battery.

This configuration suits home and personal users who want a touch display, numeric keypad and a 60 Wh battery in a 3.59 lb chassis. Buyers who need more than 16 GB of memory should look elsewhere because the installed DDR5 is not expandable beyond the factory limit. The single 60 Hz panel also makes this a poor fit for competitive gaming or colour-critical creative work.

16 GB soldered DDR5 memory decides upgrade path

The single specification that decides whether this is the right part is the 16 GB DDR5 memory ceiling. The supplier notes a maximum of 32 GB DDR5, but the 16 GB in this unit is fixed and cannot be increased later. If your workflow requires 32 GB now or in the future, this laptop will not meet that need.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions and weight of the 15.3-inch chassis?

The laptop measures 13.52 by 9.43 by 0.70 inches and weighs 3.59 lbs.

How is the 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD configured, and what step do buyers miss when adding a second drive?

Storage ships as two 512 GB drives. There is no empty M.2 slot, so expansion requires replacing one existing module.

Is the 16 GB DDR5 memory soldered or upgradeable, and what is the maximum capacity?

The 16 GB DDR5 is soldered and cannot be upgraded. The platform supports up to 32 GB, but only at time of purchase.
