Compact all-in-one desktop for office work

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny integrates a 24-inch full-HD IPS display with an 8th-generation Intel Core i5-8500 hexa-core processor running at up to 4.1 GHz. Eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a dual-drive arrangement of 128 GB M.2 SSD plus 1 TB hard drive provide responsive boot times and ample file storage. Windows 10 Pro, a USB keyboard, a USB mouse and a USB Wi-Fi/Bluetooth dongle are included for immediate deployment.

Low heat and quiet operation at 65 W TDP

The 65-watt processor stays cool inside the micro-form-factor chassis during typical business tasks such as document editing, web browsing and video conferencing. Fan noise remains unobtrusive in a standard office environment, and the all-in-one design eliminates the separate tower and cable clutter that can restrict airflow around a conventional desktop.

Steady performance during extended workloads

Sustained multi-core loads such as large spreadsheet calculations or background software updates are handled without thermal throttling thanks to the efficient 65 W design and integrated Intel UHD Graphics. The combined SSD and hard-drive storage maintains consistent read-write speeds over long sessions, while the 8 GB DDR4 capacity supports typical multitasking without excessive paging. Buyers needing more than 8 GB of memory or a discrete graphics card for intensive 3D rendering should consider alternative configurations.

Questions about this item

How do I add more DDR4 memory to the M720q Tiny and what step is often missed?

Open the case, insert the DDR4 UDIMM into the 240-pin slot until it clicks, then replace the cover before powering on.

Which storage drive will likely need replacement first in the 128 GB M.2 SSD plus 1 TB HDD configuration?

The 1 TB mechanical hard drive has moving parts and typically wears out before the solid-state drive.

What thermal limit appears first when the i5-8500 runs at 4.1 GHz for extended periods?

The 65 W processor will hit its thermal ceiling and throttle clock speeds to stay within its power envelope.
