Compact business desktop

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny is a micro-form-factor PC built around an Intel Core i7-8700 hexa-core processor running at 3.20 GHz with turbo up to 4.60 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB 2.5-inch SSD. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed, and a USB keyboard and mouse are included in the box.

Fits tight spaces and legacy media

The 1-litre-class chassis sits on a desk, behind a monitor or in a rack shelf without needing a full-size tower. A 2.5-inch drive bay and an M.2 slot allow storage expansion, while the integrated DVD-ROM handles optical media. The USB Wi-Fi and Bluetooth dongle provides wireless connectivity without internal antenna routing.

Steady output within 65 W

The i7-8700 operates at a 65 W base power envelope, so sustained workloads stay within the tiny cooler's capacity without throttling. Intel UHD Graphics handles everyday business visuals and multi-monitor output from the native ports. DDR4 memory runs at standard JEDEC speeds, delivering consistent bandwidth for long compile, spreadsheet or virtualisation sessions.

Questions about this item

Will the 65 W i7-8700 throttle under long workloads in the Tiny chassis?

The processor is rated at 65 W with a 4.60 GHz turbo ceiling; sustained loads stay within that envelope because the Tiny form factor uses a custom cooler designed for the 65 W limit.

How loud and hot does the M720q get when it runs all day?

Fan noise remains low at idle and rises to a moderate hum under full load; the case surface stays warm but not hot thanks to the 65 W power ceiling and directed airflow.

What display cable do I need to connect a monitor to this unit?

The rear panel provides DisplayPort and HDMI outputs, so any standard DisplayPort or HDMI cable will carry video to your screen.
