Compact All-in-One with Intel i7-8700

This Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q is a 22-inch Full HD all-in-one desktop driven by an 8th-generation Intel Core i7-8700 hexa-core processor. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory, a 128 GB 2.5-inch SSD and Windows 11 Pro. The integrated Intel UHD graphics handle everyday visual tasks without a discrete card.

Suits space-constrained offices and home workers

The tiny chassis and included monitor, keyboard and mouse create a complete workstation that fits on a cramped desk. Buyers who need more than 128 GB of storage or more than 8 GB of memory should look at other configurations. The integrated graphics also limit the system to light productivity and video playback.

128 GB SSD capacity decides fit

The 2.5-inch solid-state drive provides 128 GB of space for the operating system and essential files. If your workflow demands a larger local library or multiple virtual machines, this capacity will be insufficient. The fixed 8 GB DDR4 and integrated graphics reinforce that limit.

Questions about this item

How do I add more memory to the M720q Tiny, and which slot do people often miss?

Open the chassis, locate the two DDR4 DIMM slots on the motherboard, and insert modules until they click; the lower slot is frequently overlooked because it sits beneath the Wi-Fi dongle bracket.

Which component will likely need replacement first after heavy daily use?

The 128 GB 2.5-inch SSD has a finite write endurance, so it typically reaches its limit before the soldered processor or the DDR4 memory.

What thermal limit appears first when the i7-8700 runs at 4.60 GHz for extended periods?

The 65 W TDP envelope triggers throttling once the tiny heatsink saturates, capping sustained clocks below the maximum turbo frequency.
