Compact all-in-one desktop

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny integrates a 24-inch FHD IPS display with an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8700 processor, 8 GB DDR4 memory and dual storage of 256 GB M.2 SSD plus 1 TB SSD. It ships with Windows 10 Pro, a USB keyboard and mouse, and a DVD-ROM drive. This unit suits office workers who need a complete, space-saving workstation without separate monitor cables.

Micro form factor build

The micro chassis fits on a small desk or behind the screen, freeing surface area for documents or peripherals. A USB Wi-Fi and Bluetooth dongle provides wireless connectivity where built-in wireless is not present. Builders should note the 240-pin DIMM form factor for any future memory upgrades and the single M.2 slot already occupied by the OS drive.

Sustained workload behaviour

The 65 W hexa-core CPU reaches up to 4.60 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology across six cores and twelve threads, while Intel UHD Graphics handles everyday visual tasks. Under continuous load the compact thermal solution manages the 65 W power envelope without the acoustic headroom of larger towers. Buyers needing discrete graphics performance or more than 32 GB DDR4 memory should consider other form factors.

Questions about this item

Will the 65 W i7-8700 throttle under sustained multi-core loads in this Tiny chassis?

The 65 W processor can reach 4.60 GHz on Turbo Boost, but the compact Tiny case limits continuous all-core speeds compared with larger desktops.

How loud does the M720q get when the i7-8700 runs at full load all day?

The small form factor uses a single blower-style fan that spins up noticeably under sustained load; expect audible airflow noise in a quiet room.

Does the included 24-inch FHD IPS panel need a separate power brick or video cable to work with the M720q?

The all-in-one design integrates the display, so no extra monitor cables or power adapters are required beyond the system's own power cord.
