Compact Business Desktop

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720s is a small-form-factor desktop built around a six-core Intel Core i5-8500 processor running at 3.0 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVMe PCIe SSD for the operating system and applications. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed, making it ready for office deployment. Integrated Intel UHD 630 graphics drive up to two displays via DisplayPort and one via VGA.

Build Integration

The slim chassis fits on a desk or behind a monitor using a compatible mount, leaving more workspace for peripherals. A single USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port and six USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports handle keyboards, mice, and external storage without a hub. Two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports provide faster transfer for compatible drives. Gigabit Ethernet connects to wired networks; no wireless card is included, so Wi-Fi requires a separate adapter. The 65 W processor keeps thermal demands modest for the compact enclosure.

Included Accessories

Only the desktop unit and a power cord are supplied; no keyboard, mouse, speaker set or monitor are bundled. The absence of an optical drive frees the front panel for additional I/O or clean aesthetics. Windows 10 Pro enables domain join, BitLocker encryption and remote desktop features for managed environments. Buyers needing wireless connectivity, a display or input devices must source them separately.

Questions about this item

What sustained power draw does the Core i5-8500 6-core processor reach under continuous load?

The i5-8500 is a 65 W six-core CPU; under sustained workloads it will draw up to its 65 W TDP, so the small-form-factor cooler and power supply must handle that continuously.

How loud does the chassis fan become when the system runs all day at full tilt?

The M720s uses a compact SFF chassis with a single system fan; at continuous 65 W CPU load the fan spins up noticeably, producing audible airflow noise in a quiet office.

Which display cables must I already own to use the dual DisplayPort outputs?

The unit provides two DisplayPort connectors and one VGA port; you will need DisplayPort cables (or DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapters) for each monitor you attach.
