Small-form-factor business desktop

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720s is a slim desktop built for office environments. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and an Intel Core i5 8500 six-core processor running at 3.0 GHz. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVMe PCIe SSD handle everyday productivity workloads.

Sustained-load behaviour

The 65 W processor with 9 MB L3 cache maintains clock speeds during extended multi-threaded tasks. Intel UHD Graphics 630 drives dual DisplayPort outputs for multi-monitor setups without a discrete card. Gigabit Ethernet provides a stable wired connection for long data transfers.

Installation notes

The compact chassis fits on a desk or behind a monitor using a VESA mount. Only one USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port is available on the front panel. No wireless card, keyboard, mouse or optical drive are included, so buyers needing Wi-Fi or peripherals must source them separately.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the i5-8500 65 W processor get during all-day workloads?

The 65 W CPU is cooled by an internal air-cooling system designed for the small form factor chassis; under sustained load the fan will spin up but remains within typical office noise levels.

Which peripherals and network connection must I provide because they are not in the box?

No monitor, keyboard, mouse, speaker set or wireless card are included; you will need to supply those plus a wired Gigabit Ethernet cable for network access.

Can I keep using my older VGA-only display with the dual DisplayPort outputs on this M720s?

Yes — a native VGA port is provided alongside the two DisplayPort connectors, so a legacy VGA monitor plugs in directly without adapters.
