Compact business desktop for office workloads

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720s is a small-form-factor desktop built around an 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8700 hexa-core processor with 12 MB cache and a base clock of 3.20 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 2.5-inch 512 GB SSD, plus a DVD-ROM drive and a USB Wi-Fi/Bluetooth dongle. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and a USB keyboard and mouse are included in the box.

Sustained performance within a 65 W envelope

The i7-8700 runs at a 65 W TDP and can reach 4.60 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost when thermal headroom allows, but the compact SFF chassis limits how long peak frequencies can be held under continuous multi-threaded load. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 handles display output and light GPU tasks without a discrete card. The 8 GB DDR4 configuration and single SSD leave no internal 3.5-inch bay for additional spinning drives.

8 GB DDR4 decides upgrade urgency

The system arrives with a single 8 GB DDR4 UDIMM and supports up to 32 GB total, so memory capacity is the specification that determines whether the machine meets your workload immediately or needs a DIMM upgrade before deployment.
