Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny Desktop

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q is a compact business desktop built around an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8500 processor with six cores reaching up to 4.10 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB 2.5-inch SSD. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed alongside a USB keyboard and mouse.

Suits small offices needing a space-saving PC

This micro form factor system fits tight workspaces and handles everyday productivity, web browsing and video conferencing. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics supports dual monitors via standard outputs. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance, internal expansion slots or storage beyond the single 2.5-inch bay should consider a larger chassis.

Deciding spec: 256 GB 2.5-inch SSD capacity

The 256 GB solid-state drive determines how many applications and local files you can keep on the device. If your workflow requires a larger local library or multiple virtual machines, the single drive bay limits internal upgrades. External storage can supplement capacity but adds cables and footprint.

Questions about this item

How do I add a second 2.5" drive to the M720q Tiny?

Remove the side panel, slide a 2.5" SSD or HDD into the dedicated bay and connect the pre-routed data and power cables; the step often missed is securing the drive with the captive screw before closing the chassis.

Which memory upgrades does the M720q support?

The system uses DDR4 UDIMM modules and supports up to 32 GB total across two slots.

What limits sustained performance under heavy load?

The 65 W i5-8500 processor and the compact Tiny chassis thermal design throttle clocks when the cooling solution reaches its capacity.
